Back in June 2008 I was surprised to receive an e-mail from the Director of PR for the Centenary Camp, asking if I would be interested in joining the web team. She had come across the County website and really liked it.
When she told me that there would be around 10,000 people going to the camp and that we would "probably have to go to the camp for about 2.5 weeks" I jumped at the chance. I love camping and I love large scale events and I couldn't think of anything more exciting than being able to use my web skills at one of the most significant guiding events we will see in our lifetime.
Since June I have been down to CHQ in London on two occasions. The first time to meet with all the other volunteers for the different sections of the team; Radio, Photography, Camp Newspaper and tv/video and the second to discuss content for the website with CHQ.
The website is due to be launched in Jan 09, so look out for more details!

My first visit to CHQ in London.
